Matthew Brittenburg is a partner in DiFiore, Levin and Brittenburg, LLC, bringing over a decade of experience in criminal law and litigation. Since 2014, Matt has dedicated his practice to defending individuals facing complex and high-stakes criminal matters. His work spans a wide range of cases, including those involving driving under the influence (DUI), drug offenses, domestic assault, internet crimes, and child protective service investigations.
Matt’s meticulous approach to trial advocacy and pretrial litigation sets him apart. Matt began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, he served in specialized units, including the Drug Unit, Sex Crimes and Family Protection Unit, Major Crimes Unit, DUI Prosecution Unit, and Juvenile Unit. His prosecutorial experience provided him with invaluable insight into the intricacies of criminal investigations and trial strategy.
Later, Matt served as an Assistant Solicitor for the Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency, where he managed child welfare cases in dependency court.
Since transitioning to private practice, Matt has represented clients in criminal matters ranging from DUI to homicide. His comprehensive knowledge of state and federal law allows him to navigate cases involving conspiracy, robbery, child pornography, corrupt organizations, and drug delivery.
Education & Background
Matt graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he interned with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, where he competed on the trial team and moot court. During law school, Matt completed a federal judicial internship with a judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and interned with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. He received honors for distinguished oral advocacy upon graduation.
